LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WTHR) — Two people are dead after a shooting at a Lafayette gas station Sunday evening.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department responded to a shots fired run at the Family Express Station near Old State Road 25 and County Road East 300 North around 7:15 p.m.

Officers found one person dead inside the station, and an armed suspect outside by the gas pumps, according to police. Police tried to detain the suspect and more shots broke out. The suspect is now dead, but it is unclear whether the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshots, or shots from the officers.
