2 arrests made in deadly weekend shooting of 18-year-old in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WTHR) — Franklin police confirm two people have been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Franklin Saturday evening.

Police Chief Kirby Cochran said 20-year-old Emilio Garcia and 21-year-old Roger Miller were arrested Sunday evening.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of Hurricane Street near the Boys & Girls Club around 6:30 p.m., according to Johnson County dispatch.

When police arrived, they found an 18-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, who was later identified as Donovan Isaiah Burdine, was pronounced dead.

Police released surveillance images of a car wanted in connection with the shooting late Saturday night. Police located the red 2013 Dodge Dart with a dent in the driver's side door Sunday before confirming the arrests of Garcia and Miller.

Garcia is charged with murder and robbery, while Miller is charged with assisting a criminal.
