2 arrested for trying to break in to Columbus Police Department garage

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WTHR) — Columbus Police have arrested two people for trying to break in to the department's garage.

Just before 5 a.m., an officer spotted the two suspects looking in a window of the garage. One of them had their face covered with a bandana.

The officer started his police car and the two took off.

The officers were able to stop them and found out they had planned to burglarize the police department's garage.

Zachary A. Deberry, 20, of Columbus was arrested on preliminary charges of Attempted Theft and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

A 17-year-old was arrested for Attempted Theft and Possession of Marijuana.
