MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (AP/WTHR) — Olympian Bode Miller and his wife are mourning the loss of their young daughter, who reportedly drowned Sunday.

Miller posted a photo of 19-month-old Emmy to his Instagram page Monday evening, announcing his daughter's passing.

"We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday," Miller wrote. "Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest everyday. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time."

Orange County sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Braun says Emeline Miller died Sunday at a hospital. Braun says the death is under investigation.

Capt. Tony Bommarito of the Orange County Fire Authority says paramedics were called to a house in the upscale enclave of Coto de Caza just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday and tried to resuscitate a 19-month-old drowning victim. TMZ reported the Millers were at a party at a neighbor's house when the accident occurred.

Bommarito says they were unable to revive her and she was later pronounced dead.

Morgan Miller shared the same message as her husband on her Instagram page, which also contained several photos of Emmy posted in recent days.

In a photo posted May 29, Morgan was holding Emmy as she got an ultrasound for the couple's next baby, which is due in October.

Emmy was the youngest of Bode Miller's four children.

Miller is a six-time Olympic medalist, including a gold medal in the super combined event at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.
