DENTON, Tex. (WTHR) — Emma is a 16-year-old biology major at the University of North Texas. So is her mom, Kathy Earhart.

Four years ago, Emma was invited to take the SAT through Duke University at the age of 12, Kathy told WFAA.

Emma graduated with an associate's degree at 15 and is on pace to earn her biology degree by the time she turns 17. Then she'll work on her doctorate.

After 14 years as a stay-at-home mom, Kathy decided to join her daughter and head to college, too.

Both she and her mom are studying to become doctors.

“I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. I just thought the time had passed that I didn’t get to do that,” Kathy told WFAA.

Now the duo are taking every single class together.

“This has been an amazing experience, especially experiencing it with my mother. It’s just created a bond that’s going to last a lifetime,” Emma said.
