145 employers bring 4,400 jobs to Central Indiana Job Fair

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Hundreds of job-seekers turned out Wednesday for a job fair hosted by Congressman Andre Carson (D-Indianapolis).

The event featured more than 145 employers with 4,400 full and part-time positions available.

As an added bonus, nearly half of the employers offered tuition benefits.

"Unemployment, we're on par with the national average statewide, about 4.1, but that doesn't mean that people don't want better jobs, some people are working two jobs, that's not talked about so we want people to have a more secure future, higher paying wages," Carson said.

This is the 9th year for the event.
