INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Friday marks one year since Carrier first announced it would send jobs from Indiana to Mexico.

Roughly 1,400 jobs would have been lost. Late last year after the election, then-President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence negotiated with Carrier to keep the majority of the jobs in Indiana in exchange for some big tax breaks.

Several hundred jobs, though, are still moving to Mexico. A United Technologies plant in Huntington, which is owned by the same parent company, was not included in the deal. Another 700 jobs from that plant will be phased out starting in April.
