WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WTHR) — One person has died after a crash in Boone County Thursday.

Police say 50-year-old Nyab Ksor of Indianapolis died from his injuries on the scene.

Five other people involved in the crash are recovering in the hospital for "moderate to severe injuries."

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of SR 267 and Indianapolis Road in Whitestown. Investigators believe a semi-trailer was traveling south on SR 267 when it was involved in a collision with a car traveling east on Indianapolis Road.

Four others in the car and one person who was in the semi were treated for injuries.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, which closed SR 267 for several hours.
