OPERATING TECHNICIAN JOB #300-VV
WTHR-TV seeks a highly motivated Operating Technician that will work closely with the news department in evaluating, planning and executing live shots and assists news crews in site selection and technical setup. The individual will drive, operate and perform light maintenance on Electronic News Gathering (ENG) vehicles and set up live remote news broadcasts, may also operate and perform light maintenance on Satellite News Gathering (SNG) vehicles, ENG and SNG receiving equipment, fixed uplink equipment, remote production truck, videoserver equipment, perform on air switching and any other operational duties and tasks assigned.

Qualified candidates must possess:

** A valid Chauffer's license with current medical certificate. A Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and current medical certificate is strongly desired.
** At least one year's experience as a broadcast television technician
** Strong self motivation and able to handle multiple simultaneous functions away from direct supervision.
** Must be able to work unusual hours, holidays and weekends and be available for extended travel and work away from the station.
** Must maintain a clean driving record and possess a good sense of direction.

Work Schedule: Friday - Tuesday or Thursday - Monday; 4:00 am - 1:00 pm

This producer should have the ability to seek out and present relevant and immediate stories with a keen eye towards important news of the day and enterprise. We need a self-starter who can juggle planning, producing, social media and web. The best candidate is someone who is consistent, creative, in charge, flexible and energetic. Applicants must have a bachelor\'s degree in Journalism or related field and a minimum of four years producing experience.

The ideal candidate must cultivate sources, break hard news stories that can lead newscasts, and turn great live shots. Creating additional digital content is part of this position's every day expectations. This is a veteran shop that values team work and hard work. No beginners. Minimum five years reporting experience is required. Candidate must have the ability to work flexible hours.

INVESTIGATIVE PRODUCER JOB #300-JH
WTHR is growing its nationally recognized investigative team with the addition of an investigative producer. This person will work closely with our investigative team and the newsroom to develop topical and long term investigative stories. You'll research, plan and execute stories with broad impact to the people of Central Indiana. Computer assisted reporting skills are a must. You must also be able to develop sources, handle complex investigations and work with our talented anchors and reporters to produce high level investigations on multiple platforms. Writing and interviewing are part of the job. And you've got to be able to handle multiple projects at once. We're looking for some with a rabid curiosity and a strong moral compass. Five year experience as an investigative journalist is strongly desired.
