MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY JOB #300-LD
WTHR-TV is seeking a "hands on" IT management professional to lead WTHR's IT staff and set overall IT team goals, objectives and procedures to build and maintain the station's IT infrastructure and core IT business systems at state of the art. The successful candidate will collaborate with department heads on the IT aspects of project planning, budgeting, scheduling and execution while maintaining a focus on customer service.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience in order to be considered:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (may substitute relevant experience for education);
  • At least five years of relevant work experience; which must include at least two years of management experience;
  • Strong background in local and wide area networking and network management, including all types of servers and videoservers;
  • The ability to author custom software for applications where no adequate software is available is a must;
  • Proven success in process automation;
  • Knowledge of office applications and PCs with an extensive Microsoft background;
  • Must be well versed in digital based video production and distribution technology;
  • Excellent leadership, teambuilding, communications, budget and general management skills are required;
  • Must be self-motivated and energetic with the ability to work independently;
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure;
  • Experience in a broadcast/news environment is a plus, as is VOIP and data switch experience

INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER OR PRODUCER JOB #300-JH
WTHR-TV, the dominant station in Indianapolis, is looking to grow its' nationally recognized investigative team. 13Investigates recently won the Dupont, the Peabody, the Murrow and the National Emmy for investigative reporting and we want to continue that commitment of producing great investigative work by expanding our team. Investigative reporters and/or investigative producers with strong investigative skills and track records must be able to develop and produce topical and long term investigative stories. Must have strong research, planning, and time-management skills, computer assisted reporting skills are a plus. Five year experience as an investigative journalist strongly desired.
