More safety problems found on IPS buses

Updated:

Indianapolis - Inspectors were back out all day looking at some Indianapolis school buses operated privately by First Student, and again, inspectors found problems.

Of the ten buses inspected at the transportation center on Belmont, nine did not pass initial inspection. But following repairs, four of the nine were approved.

Five additional buses did not pass, but are still road-worthy, given they make repairs within 30 days.

Since we first reported these problems on Monday, investigator Bob Segall has shown us that 80 percent of this company's buses failed their first inspection. The company that works on this group of IPS buses says it is working to correct all the violations.

State police say they will continue unannounced inspections.
