Nicole Misencik joined the SkyTrak weather team in August, 2007, as weekend Sunrise forecaster. She came to WTHR from WWMT, the CBS affiliate in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she was a morning reporter and weather anchor.
You can currently catch Nicole on Sunrise weekday mornings with fun topics and her forecast on Eyewitness News at Noon.
Nicole's first television job was in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she "did it all." She produced, reported, anchored the news, and forecasted the weather for northern Arizona, all in one day. It was in Flagstaff that she got her first taste of forecasting snow! She also served as a fill-in bureau reporter for Phoenix's KPNX.
Nicole graduated from Northern Arizona University majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Women's Studies. She was awarded a degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2009. Nicole has been awarded the American Meteorological Society's Seal of Approval.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Nicole is learning to appreciate the "dry heat" she left behind. Her family still lives in the Valley of the Sun, and she's looking forward to taking advantage of their "warm" winters when visiting home. When she's not in the SkyTrak 13 forecast center, Nicole loves to catch movies, and explore Indianapolis. She's a self-professed food lover, and is checking out many of the unique local restaurants central Indiana has to offer.
