IMPD INVESTIGATES OVERNIGHT SHOOTING:|
Metro homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that happened early this morning at the corner of Holloway and Roosevelt Avenues on the city's northeast side. Police describe the victim as in his forties, and say he appeared to be shot twice, once in the stomach and once in the arm. He was taken to IU Health-Methodist Hospital in critical condition. At this point, investigators have no suspects or motive for the shooting. Read more details here.

JACKET MORNING:
It's another cool morning, but it looks like the warming trend continues from late today into next week. Temperatures this morning warrant a jacket or long-sleeved shirt. MALAYSIA AIRLINES PLANE SHOT DOWN:
A Malaysian airliner was shot down near the Ukraine-Russia border Thursday by a surface-to-air missile. Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it crashed with 298 passengers and crew on board in a town in eastern Ukraine. Check out updates.

SAFETY CONCERNS AT THIS WEEKEND'S BLACK EXPO:
More than 200,000 people are expected downtown this weekend for the Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration. Police and organizers are doing everything they can to keep people safe. Summer Celebration has had its own share of problems in years past, but most recently the effort by police and the community has resulted in positive changes. MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED:
The city's violent crimes task force arrested a murder suspect near 38th Street and Alsace Drive Thursday night. Police took the man into custody after he surrendered his car. Eyewitness News is still working to learn which murder the man is suspected to be involved in. Read more about the arrest.
