5 Things You Need to Know this Thursday morning

SUN AND 70s:
It's another cool morning, and in some cases, even cooler than yesterday. But, things will change. Sunshine stays with us all day in our Thursday forecast, with highs in the middle 70s. 80s are back for the weekend. Watch Chuck's full forecast.

SUSPECT ARRESTED:
Police arrested Wednesday the suspect accused with the murder of convenience store clerk Harry Briggs in June. Following the murder, the suspect, 22-year-old Desi Thomas, skipped away through the parking lot of the Joe's Junction convenience store on West Troy Avenue. Thomas faces a preliminary charge of murder. The prosecutor's office is expected to announce formal charges Thursday. Read more of the story here.

NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH EFFORTS ON RISE:
Every Crime Watch zone in the city is expanding. With the spike in violent crime over the last year, more than 100 neighborhood Crime Watch groups have either started or re-started to better protect their communities. The message is that the groups work. Check out Carrie Cline's story to find out how you can get involved in Crime Watch efforts in your neighborhood.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL COSTS RISING:
Summertime is flying by, and the rush is on for back-to-school supplies. Families should expect to spend a little more on supplies this year, according to NRF's 2014 Back-to-School Survey. Reporter Kris Kirschner breaks down what you can expect to pay for back-to-school for your K-12 or college-age kids.

If you're looking for a new job, you can get some important help today from noon-5 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center's 500 Ballroom. WTHR is sponsoring the 19th Annual Employment Opportunity Fair hosted by the Indiana Black Expo as part of its summer celebration. 80 employers will be on hand from various professions, trades and industries.
