INDIANAPOLIS -

Police have identified 18-year-old Javon Wilkins as the suspect from this morning's shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

He is in critical condition at Eskenazi Health.

The shooting, which involved a police officer, was in the 1300 block of West Pruitt.

Around 1:30 a.m. today, an officer shot Wilkins after he pulled a gun on him and another officer. No officers were injured in the incident.

According to police, SWAT officers were conducting surveillance in the area after several incidents in the past few days.

They were not in a marked car. They witnessed Wilkins fire shots into a car with four people inside. As police moved in to confront him, they said he turned to them with a gun. Police proceeded to open fire.

This story is still developing and will be updated as we get more details.
