RAIN THIS MORNING, STORMS POSSIBLE LATER:

There is a lot of rain this morning, just south of Indianapolis. And there is a chance of storms later this afternoon. Today's high will be 83. And things are really cooling down tomorrow. For more on that, check out Chuck's full forecast.

DEATH INVESTIGATION:

Police are investigating a suspicious death on the northwest side of Indianapolis last night. A man was taken in for questioning after his girlfriend was found dead around 9:25 p.m. in an apartment at a complex on Lynfield Road near 46th Street & High School Road. SAFE CITIES AND TOWNS:

There are cities and towns that are succeeding when it comes to keeping their communities safe. In a recent list of the safest cities in Indiana by real estate website motovo.com, Zionsville, Fishers, and Carmel rank in the top 3. Experts say it's mostly about citizen involvement. BIKE RIDE FOR FALLEN OFFICERS:

Dozens of bicyclists will take off at 9 a.m. this morning for a ride around the state of Indiana. Their ride is in honor of those who give their lives to serve and protect us. The event is the 12th Annual Cops Cycling for Survivors Bicycle Ride Around Indiana, and the cyclists will log nearly one thousand miles over 13 days to raise funds to help surviving family members and co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty. BROAD RIPPLE SAFETY PLAN:

The Broad Ripple Village Association has organized a block party from 7-10 p.m. tonight at the Broad Ripple Tavern to raise money for additional security cameras and better lighting. This comes after several high profile crimes in the area. New safety precautions went into effect over the weekend, and the community is hoping the fundraiser will them take even more precautions.
