OFFICER RENN FUNERAL SERVICE:

Indianapolis will say goodbye to a hero today. Fallen IMPD Officer Perry Renn will be laid to rest. His funeral is at 11 a.m. at Banker's Life Fieldhouse, with a procession and graveside services to follow. Thousands are expected to attend the services. OFFICER RENN PROCESSION:

After this morning's service at Bankers Life Fieldhouse., the officer's funeral procession will leave there and head down Pennsylvania.. proceed to Washington and then up to Delaware Street. The procession will turn east along 30th Street, and then take Sherman drive to 38th Street. It ends at Crown Hill Cemetery where graveside services will follow at the "Heroes of Public Safety" Section of Crown Hill cemetery. Click here to view a map of the procession route.

BROAD RIPPLE SECURITY:

Mayor Greg Ballard has directed the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to close Broad Ripple Avenue to motor vehicles from College to Guilford from midnight to 4 am on weekends through at least the summer. The move comes after seven people were shot last Friday night. No arrests have been made in the shooting, although one man who was at the scene faces an unrelated weapons charge. KIDNAPPING, POLICE CHASE, & CRASH:

A boy was injured in a reported car theft on the east side of Indianapolis Thursday evening. Police say a woman was getting gas for her car at on East 21st Street, near Post Road, around 7:30 last night when a man jumped in her car and drove off with her 13-year-old son inside. He managed to get out, but did suffer some cuts and bruises. Police say the suspect then led them on a chase before crashing on I-70 around Mt. Comfort. The suspect was seriously hurt in the crash. CLEAR MORNING:

There are clear skies in Central Indiana this morning as we wake up to current temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Today, Live Doppler 13 radar will stay dry, but the satellite radar will begin to pick up on a few clouds, especially this afternoon.
