Mom gets apology from JetBlue over bathroom incident

Updated:
BOSTON - JetBlue is apologizing to a Massachusetts woman for an issue involving the bathroom on one of their planes.

Jennifer Devereaux was on board a delayed JetBlue flight from New York to Boston with her two daughters last week. As the plane sat on the runway, a flight attendant refused to let Devereaux's three-year-old girl use the restroom.

The child ended up urinating on herself in her seat, infuriating the mother.

But she says the company did the right thing by calling to apologize.

"She said, 'I am a mom, too. I understand what you are going through and I am so sorry this happened to you.' I didn't care about a voucher, that kind of stuff doesn't matter to me," Devereaux said. "But I did want an apology for my family, because we really felt we were mistreated and felt awful about it."

JetBlue offered Devereaux's family a $50 credit and $5,000 to donate to the charity of their choice. The company also says employees will undergo sensitivity training.
