They overcame incredible odds when they very easily could have become crime statistics.
Instead, several teenagers were celebrated Saturday for their success. Twenty-five teens were able to get their high school diploma or GED thanks, in part, to "Outreach." That's a local non-profit that works with homeless youth to offer support programs with the goal to help them achieve stability and transform their lives.
"Statistics would indicate they would have dropped out of high school and would have become a statistic of crime," explained Eric Howard, the founder of Outreach, Inc. "Now, they have something that will never be taken away from them."
Several local companies made donations to help purchase graduation gifts for the teens.
