Here are the 5 things you need to know on this Friday morning

Updated:

RAIN THIS MORNING, SUNNY THIS AFTERNOON:

Overnight a few heavy pockets of rain moved through with rumbles of thunder, but now only spotty showers are left on Indiana's most powerful live radar. This morning, we will primarily see rain along and south of I-70 during the morning commute. It will slowly push east this morning, leaving mostly sunny skies for the afternoon. The normal high this time of year is 82, the normal low is 62, we'll be well below that today and tonight. As the clouds break and reveal mostly sunny skies, temps will warm into the upper 60's by noon, and by 3:00 p.m., a high of 73.

WORKER DIES IN ACCIDENT AT DEEP ROCK TUNNEL SITE:

Citizens Energy confirms that one person has died in a construction accident at their deep rock tunnel project. It happened around 3:00 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Tibbs Avenue on the city's south side. An EMS ambulance was called to the sewer project for an injured person and about an hour later the worker was pronounced dead at the scene. All the workers were removed from the tunnel. A Citizens spokesperson says the other workers were never in danger.

COUPLE INJURED IN FIRE:

A fire in a trailer injured a man and woman in rural Hamilton County. Several fire departments were called to fight the fire this morning at the Fall Timber Trailer Park on State Road 32, east of Durbin Road, between Noblesville and Lapel. A husband and wife were able to escape the burning trailer, but they did suffer burns to their hands and face. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. Investigators are looking into what sparked the fire.

GAS PRICES GOING UP:

The escalating conflict in Iraq could drive gas prices higher. Militant islamists have captured several major Iraqi cities and are trying to push into Baghdad. As the violence increased yesterday, oil futures climbed to $106 dollars a barrel. That's a 2% increase and the highest level since last September. If oil prices keep heading up, analysts predict prices at the pumps could jump more than 20 cents in the next couple weeks. The national average for gas is currently $3.65 a gallon. In Indianapolis, the average is now at $3.78 a gallon.

BIG CONCERTS TONIGHT:

Indianapolis' newest star is performing in his hometown tonight. Josh Kaufman will take the stage at the State Fairgrounds. The winner of NBC's "The Voice" winner, along with several other musical acts, will perform at a concert tonight in the Coliseum. It's all a part of a concert put on by WZPL-FM. The concert begins tonight at 7:00. Tickets to the show start at 25 dollars. Also tonight, The Backstreet Boys bring its "in a World Like This" tour back to Klipsch Music Center. Avril Lavigne is also a part of the show. That concert at Klipsch gets underway at 7:30 tonight.
