An 11-month-old Indianapolis boy injured by a falling television last month has died.

Demetrius Jones was in critical condition at Riley Hospital for Children since the May 21st accident at his east side home, where he lived with his mother.

Demetrius suffered severe head injuries after the family's large television fell on him. Doctors used a feeding tube as part of the ongoing care for Demetrius.

His family learned from doctors early on that it would be a wait-and-see situation.

Off-duty Metro Police Officer David Miller rendered CPR first aid to Demetrius while working his part-time security job at the apartment complex.

Family and friends credit Miller with keeping the boy alive after the tragic accident.

But on Wednesday doctors diagnosed him as not being able to survive without the aid of some of the hospital machines that kept him alive, according to a family friend.

Now the boy's mother is trying to come up with enough funds to give the 11-month-old a proper burial.
