The Pacers suffered a rough end to their season with a 25 point loss to the Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Indiana got on the board first then went on a 7-0 run. Things went downhill after that. After being up 9-2 at one point, the Heat outscored the Pacers 22-4 to end the first quarter with a 24-13 lead.
If things went downhill for the Pacers in the 1st quarter, they simply imploded in the 2nd. While Indiana was repeatedly unable to hit their shots, the Heat caught fire seeing leads as large as 26 points. By halftime, Miami led 60-34. The pattern continued in the 3rd when the score difference hit 30 points for the first time in the series, getting as high as 37.
Indiana narrowed that gap to end the game with a 25 point loss, 117-92, making for the third year in a row the Heat have eliminated the Pacers.
Paul George led the Pacers with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Chris Bosh and LeBron James each hit 25 points with another 13 each from Rashard Lewis and Dwayne Wade.
Miami is only the third franchise to make at least four consecutive trips to the Finals, joining the Celtics and Lakers. They will get almost a full week of rest before the Finals start. The Heat will face either San Antonio or Oklahoma City next Thursday night.
