Hundreds expected at State Fair job fair today

INDIANAPOLIS -

Hundreds of job-seekers are expected to make their way to the Indiana State Fairgrounds this afternoon for the annual job fair.  State Fair officials are looking to hire about five hundred people for this year's event.

It's the "Year of the Coliseum" at the State Fairgrounds and that may be drawing more interest than ever before. The newly renovated coliseum will once again showcase concerts this year and that has a lot of people excited.

The job fair has always drawn great crowds.  About 1,500 people have lined up in the past in the hopes of landing one of the jobs as ticket takers, security, maintenance, parking.

If you're coming out to the job fair, State Fair spokesman Andy Klotz says, "What we really look for are people who are enthusiastic not just about the fair, which is a well known tradition, but somebody who's going to be professional, show up on time, have a great attitude and just enjoy what they're experience is here during the fair."

Most of the jobs are outside jobs, so keep in mind you'll need to be ready to be outside all day and interact with fair goers.

Today's job fair is from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., but state fair officials say people will start lining up around 2:00 p.m.  They also say to dress comfortably and bring a resume, if you have one.
