HENDRICKS COUNTY - Interstate 70 westbound is back open after a semi fire shut down lanes on Monday night.

Police had to close the interstate at SR 267 near Plainfield due to the fire, which happened in the westbound lanes around the 66 mile marker at around 8:00 pm. Eastbound lanes were closed for a short time after the crash, but have reopened. Eastbound traffic was moving slowly through the scene.

A second truck was reportedly involved in the initial crash before the fire. That truck stopped a short distance down the road and has extensive roof and rear-end damage.

The driver of the semi was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital with unknown injuries.
