Two people shot at northeast side apartment complex overnight

INDIANAPOLIS -

Another violent night in Indianapolis. Police are investigating a double shooting at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side. It happened in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court.

We know the two victims were a man and a woman. The man was shot in the stomach and the woman shot in the leg. Both were brought here to Methodist Hospital. No word on their conditions.

This all happened at the Keystone North Apartments on Edgemere Ct. Gunfire rang out around one this morning. When police responded, they found the two victims laying in the parking lot outside one of the buildings. Witnesses say the gunshots were loud like fireworks and then they heard screaming.

"It's kind of scary because I've got two boys. I don't know, you just live day to day. It's scary, I'll just put it like that I don't like it all. Just shooting and fighting and people getting shot," said Robyn Amos, a neighbor.

"I come outside to get something if it's sunny outside or if it's a nice day or to walk to the kids to the store and I'm scared to do that because you never know. People do stuff in broad daylight. It really doesn't matter whether it's dark or it's light outside, people is crazy. It happens everyday," said Amos.

Residents say this complex is no stranger to trouble. So far, police have not released any suspect information or the victim's identities.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
