Thursday will be the warmest day of the year, so far. Look for highs to top out around 85 degrees.
Rain and a few storms are in the Friday forecast. Right now, we are timing the steadiest rain from about Noon through 9 p.m. Friday. Indianapolis and western portions of Indiana are under a slight risk of severe weather Friday afternoon.
Some of our latest analysis has the weather system moving far enough south for some dry weather this weekend. Don't expect a lot of weekend rain. We will have a chance for a shower both Saturday and Sunday, but it still looks mainly dry. That’s good news to the 40,000-plus fans who will head to the Speedway for the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis and to Monument Circle for the 500 Festival Kids Day and Rookie Run.
This weather pattern change is good news for all of the outdoor activities this weekend, including Mother’s Day.
