Pacers prepare for Monday playoff game

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -
At 2:00 Sunday afternoon, Pacers officials said nearly 2,500 tickets remained for Monday's playoff game against the Washington Wizards. Bankers Life Fieldhouse can seat 18,165.

Jesus and Jose Adame came to the box office to buy tickets and were successful.

"We tried [to go to Saturday's game], but they were sold out," Jesus Adame said.

The father and son are visiting from Mexico.

"Mostly we watch soccer. Basketball is good in Mexico, but it's not as good as it is here," Jesus Adame said.

Jose has been following the Pacers' progress, and with his dad's convention in town, it allowed the perfect time to watch the players in person.

"They're a really good team and they're doing really good right now," Jose Adame said.

Still, it's been a tough season. Saturday's final game against Atlanta proved to be a challenge but the team finally pulled ahead to win.

"Survival, relief. When you get in the playoffs you never know what's going to happen," said David Benner with the Pacers.

The blue and gold have their work cut out for them in this second round.

"Washington has had one of the better records in the NBA and is coached by Randy Whittman, an Indiana guy, and we've played them three times and won two of three - we won the two here and lost one at Washington, so it's probably going to be much like the first round. It's going to be a very difficult series," Benner explained.

Monday's game starts at 7:00 pm with a second showdown at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Wednesday.

Early Sunday, tickets could be found online from $24.95 to $1,272.90.
