Warmer weekend, 80s return next week

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

A few sprinkles are falling this morning but drier air will move in, allowing a gradual clearing of the skies. If you are running the Mini Marathon this morning, keep in mind that some of the roads may be a bit wet and slick. Temperatures at race time will be in the low 50s. It will be a bit breezy today, with winds out of the southwest from 10 to 15 mph. Temperatures will climb more than 10 degrees warmer than yesterday, with a high in the upper 60s.

It will be partly cloudy this evening with a low in the mid 40s.

There is a chance of a few stray showers Sunday afternoon, mainly along a Lafayette, Kokomo, Marion line. It will be a slightly cooler too, thanks to the winds turning out of the north. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid 60s.

A warming trend is on the horizon! Warmer air begins to build in on Monday with partly sunny skies in and highs in near 70 degrees.

Temperatures will climb into the low 80s by mid week with rain chances returning late Thursday night into Friday.
