PURDUE'S SAFETY PLAN:

Today Purdue university president Mitch Daniels will be part of a discussion about the new security recommendations at the university. Purdue just released a security report.. analyzing feedback they received after the January 21st shooting and stabbing that killed graduate assistant Andrew Boldt. NEW PUSH FOR IMMUNIZATIONS:

A nationwide effort is underway to increase the number of children getting immunizations. Indiana is the launch site for the initiative that comes during 'National Infant Immunization Week.' Representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and the Surgeon General's office will launch the Hallmark 'For America's Babies' initiative at IU Health in Avon this morning. As part of the initiative, starting today, parents of newborns in Indiana will receive a card from the State Health Commissioner with a schedule of immunizations to act as a reminder.

INDYCARS RETURN TO IMS TODAY:

It's not even May yet, and racing practice at the Indy Motor Speedway is already kicking off Wednesday with the first practice for Indy's first IndyCar road race, the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

COOL WEATHER CONTINUES THIS MORNING:

You'll notice temperatures are a little cooler outside this morning. But at least it isn't raining. Wednesday will be a cooler day, with a high of 62. We could see a little rain later today.

TEACHER IN COURT:

A Warren Township teacher facing charges of public intoxication and dealing marijuana is expected to appear in court today. Megan Brotherton is a teacher at Pleasant Run Elementary. She was arrested after after a crash over the weekend at 54th and Keystone. Police say the teacher ran off after the crash. She was found about two miles away. Police found an open container and a large amount of marijuana in her car.
