5 Things to know this Tuesday morning

INDIANAPOLIS -

POLICE SHOOT SUSPECT:

An IMPD officer shot a suspect on the city's east side, outside of a Circle K at 21st and Shadeland. The officer was walking around the building and heard the bolt action of a gun. When he came around the corner, he encountered a man carrying a long gun. The officer shot the man. The man is expected to survive.

OFFICERS INVESTIGATE A MURDER:

One person is dead after a shooting overnight on the city's northwest side. It happened in the parking lot of the Abington Apartment complex in the 4600 block of Abington Way. Police received the 911 call shortly before 1:30 this morning of 10-15 shots fired here at this complex. When they arrived, they found a man dead inside a white compact 4-door car. The car was stolen out of Hamilton County. Beyond that, police have very little information to go on. If you have any information. You're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS where you can leave information anonymously.

11 PEOPLE KILLED IN THE LATEST ROUND OF SEVERE WEATHER:

An emergency management official says two additional deaths have been reported in southern Tennessee from a storm system that's spawned deadly tornadoes as it moves across the South. This happened in Lincoln County, Tennessee near the border with Alabama. Several homes as well as a middle school in the county were damaged. At least 11 people in the South have been killed, bringing the overall death toll from two days of severe weather to at least 28.

SLIGHT CHANCE OF SEVERE WEATHER IN CENTRAL INDIANA:

Rain is moving out of Central Indiana this morning. The highs today will be in the 70s. With a bit more sun, there will be more instability. We will be tracking the potential for more storms, especially after 3:00PM. A few could be strong to severe. If you do have outdoor plans, it will not rain all day but you will want to keep an eye on Live Doppler 13 Radar.
