NEW ALBANY, Ind. -

An 18-year-old southern Indiana woman has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in connection with a house fire that killed three young siblings.

Shelby Makowsky of Clarksville entered the plea Tuesday to a charge of conspiracy to commit arson in return for prosecutors reducing the charge from a more serious felony. She faces possible penalties of six to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines when she's sentenced May 29.

Prosecutors say Makowsky was with 18-year-old Cody Cashion of New Albany when he allegedly fired a flare into a New Albany home Jan. 4 to avenge an alleged robbery. The young siblings were overnight guests there. Cashion has pleaded not guilty to murder and arson charges.

Makowsky's attorney says she's accepting responsibility for her role.
