5 Things you need to know to start your week

Updated:

PACERS HIT RECORD LOW:

The team set a new franchise low when they scored just 23 points in the first half of their game against the Atlanta Hawks. The Pacers never recovered from shooting just 20 percent for the first 30 minutes, eventually falling 107-88. Star center Roy Hibbert was benched for the entire second half of the game. The Pacers are now one game behind the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference.

MORE RAIN THIS MORNING:

After a beautiful Sunday, the rain is back just in time for the drive into work. Central Indiana could get up to another inch of rain, as a cold front sends the mercury plunging. Our high today will only reach the 40s. Stormy, cold weather will persist through tomorrow, but there's good news: the rest of the week looks to be sunny and warm heading into the weekend.

CARMEL COMMUTE HEADACHE:

If your trip to work takes you through Carmel, you may want to check your route. US-31 is shut down from Old Meridian Street to 136th Street. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the detours, and traffic back-ups are expected today. You can get the latest on the closure on Twitter, with our hashtag: #13on31.

TIPPECANOE COUNTY FIRE:

A fire on Saturday claimed the lives of twin three-year-old boys. Liam and Landon Abbot were found unconscious in their first floor bedroom. They were rushed to the hospital, but died from their injuries. The boys' father, Brandon, was found unconscious in the front lawn with his friend Nicole Thomas. Both were taken to the hospital, but the father left after hearing the fate of his sons. Thomas remains in serious condition.

OFFICER ARRESTED AFTER DEADLY CRASH:

Police say the crash that injured a pregnant driver and killed her male passenger was caused by an off-duty Edgewood police officer. Officer James Foutch has been arrested for OWI after he rear-ended Rebecca Marie Sperry, who was nine-months-pregnant. Friends of her family say the man who was killed was Sperry's husband. The crash caused her to go into labor, and she delivered the baby at the hospital. There is no word on her or the baby's condition.
