Morning rain, afternoon clearing

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to push through Central Indiana.  We are not expecting severe weather, but flooding will continue to be a concern Friday morning.  An additional 1-2″ of rain will be possible before we start to dry out in the afternoon.

Flood watches and warnings continue this morning, with flood warnings for area rivers going into the weekend.

Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 50s, but fall into the upper 40s and low 50s Friday afternoon and evening.  Wind gusts out of the west up to 30 to 40 mph will be possible.  The rain should end by mid-day with a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon.

We have a chance to dry out this weekend with sunshine and below-normal highs in the 50s.  The normal high for today's date is 59.

More rain moves in Monday, with early indications showing another inch of rain is possible.

The 7 day forecast shows drying conditions next week.
