A grant for $6,000 will go to support internships for students with disabilities through Indianapolis' Eskenazi Health.
Eskenazi on Wednesday announced the award from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The grant is intended to help students with disabilities launch their careers.
Eskenazi Health Vice President of Human Resources Christia Hicks says the internships will help combat disproportionate rates of unemployment among college graduates with disabilities.
Five students are set to work this summer under the internship program, which was started by Eskenazi and Ball State University.
A cooperation agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded the grant.
