Hoosiers each due up to $3.17 in e-book refunds

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Hundreds of thousands of Indiana e-book readers can get a share of $2.6 million in refunds from settlements in an alleged price-fixing scheme.

The Indiana attorney general's office says about 370,000 people in Indiana stand to receive a share of $2.6 million in refunds. The shares sent this week range from about $0.73 to $3.17 per e-book.

Those due refunds should have received emails from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or other companies involved.

The U.S. Department of Justice and 33 states sued the e-book companies in 2012, alleging they conspired to raise the retail prices of e-books. Apple was later found to have violated antitrust laws, and is currently appealing that decision
