LOS ANGELES -

Nick Cannon's recent Instagram post may have gotten him 12,000 "likes," but it's also generating plenty of controversy.

The America's Got Talent host posted photos and video of himself to Instragram in white make-up.

"It's official ... I'm White!!!" he posted two days ago.

Cannon is promoting a new album called White People Party Music. His post included, "#WHITEPEOPLEPARTYMUSIC #Wppm in stores April 1st!!!!!!Dude Go Get It!!!Join The Party!!!! #GoodCredit #DogKissing #BeerPong #FarmersMarkets #FistPumping #CreamCheeseEating #RacialDraft 'Bro I got drafted!!'"

Some are calling his photos racist, while others are defending him.

"This is a bad career move. He could lose AGT if this goes wrong. It's a real thin line he is walking," said one Instagram fan.

Another fan wrote, "It's his page. If you don't like it, leave."
