LAWRENCE, Ind. -

The body of a woman was found Sunday evening near a dumpster at a Lawrence apartment complex.

A security guard found 24-year-old Jazmine Trammell's body in a container next to the dumpster at Maison Garden Apartments near 42nd and Post Road, according to Det. Sgt. Gary Woodruff with Lawrence police. Police are investigating the case as a homicide but, at last check, they had not released the cause of death.

"We believe that the victim was moved here from somewhere else and the manner of death is definitely homicide." said Lawrence Police Detective Captain Gary Woodruff.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday morning the exact cause of death.

Trammell's body was found in the wooden chest pictured to the right of this article. Investigators have asked for help identifying the chest. It has a leather covered lid, approximately 4.5 feet long, manufactured by Lane.

Trammell's family says they last saw her Sunday morning at around 9 a.m.

Police say Trammell had friends at the complex but did not live there.  Those friends have been questioned by detectives and are cooperating.  Police said, at this point, there are no suspects.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call police at 545-7575 or Crimestoppers of Central Indiana at 262-TIPS (8477).
