INDIANAPOLIS -

An IFD fire engine dropped into a sinkhole on the south side of town Monday night.

Engine 29 was caught in the sinkhole at Boyd and Finley on its way to a fire, according to an IFD spokesperson. The hole was around 4 feet by 8 feet.

No injuries were reported.

Engine 29 was on its way to an unoccupied house fire. Another unit was able to put that fire out with minimal damage to the structure.

IFD said there was no damage sustained by Engine 29. The engine was checked out at IFD's garage and remains in service.
