Study: Married women have better heart health than single women

Updated:

When women are in a committed a relationship, they may heal their heart in more ways than expected.

London researchers report married women - or those living with a partner - are 28 percent less likely to die of heart disease compared to their single peers, even though their risk of developing the disease is the same.

This survival link isn't clear, but researchers suggest these women may be encouraged by their partners to seek early medical treatment, take their medications and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
