GREENWOOD, Ind. -

A police pursuit of shoplifting suspects ended in a crash in a south Indianapolis restaurant.

Greenwood police say the pursuit began just after 6:30 p.m. Friday when police learned Danissa Moss, 41, and James Townsend, 57, both of Indianapolis, may have been involved in the theft of perfume from the Von Maur store at Greenwood Park Mall.

Moss, the driver of the car, drove around an officer who was blocking an exit and then fled northbound on US 31 with officers in pursuit.

The vehicle Moss was driving reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour during the pursuit, which ended when Moss lost control in the parking lot of the IHOP restaurant at US 31 and Shelby Street on the south side of Indianapolis. Moss's vehicle struck a car in the parking lot, then struck the building.

Moss narrowly missed pedestrians in the parking lot. Both Moss and Townsend were arrested and no injuries were reported.
