Snow tonight, sunny finish to Sunday

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Another system will arrive this evening, bringing scattered snow showers to Central Indiana.   Most areas will receive 1" to 2" of snow this evening, with just some flurries during the overnight.

More snow could push us over the top for the snowiest season (Dec-Feb) on record.  The old record was set back during the 1981-82 winter season.

Temperatures will hold steady in the upper teens tonight, with light wind out of the south.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and warmer with highs near 30 degrees.

A wintry mix will be possible Monday morning.  Precipitation could start off as snow, changing over to freezing rain and sleet and then to just rain by afternoon.  This is a system that the SkyTrak13 Weather Team will continue to monitor over the next couple of days.

The gradual warming trend will continue through the work week.  Flooding will be an issue, as temperatures warm above the freezing mark and more precipitation arrives.  The ground is frozen and the snow liquid equivalent is one to two inches.
