MORE WINTER WEATHER EXPECTED TODAY: The SkyTrak 13 Weather Team is tracking our next winter weather system. It has prompted a winter weather advisory for the area just south of Indianapolis. This includes: Greenwood, Shelbyville, Bloomington and Columbus. This advisory is in effect from 7am to 8pm today for 2-4 inches of snow. Indianapolis and communities along I-70 will have 1-2 inches of snow possible. North of Indianapolis, the totals will be only an inch or less. LAWMAKER AND DAUGHTER INJURED IN CRASH: Rep. David Niezgodski from northern Indiana and his 23 year old daughter were badly hurt in a crash at an intersection next to the Statehouse grounds. They were taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition after the crash Thursday evening. A Facebook post by the St. Joseph County Democratic Party says that the 'early reports are that they are both O-K.'
DRUG LACED CANDY: Indiana State Police are warning parents about candy laced with THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. Undercover police have come across the drug in southwest Indiana. Most of the candy resembles lollipops, hard-rock candy and gummy worms and bears. Inspect their children's candy and be suspicious of unwrapped in unfamiliar packaging.
HJR-3 STALLED: The Indiana Senate's decision not to restore a ban on civil unions to the state's proposed gay marriage ban means voters won't be able to decide the issue for at least two years. Senators approved a proposed constitutional amendment Thursday to ban gay marriage. But they didn't restore language stripped by the House that also would have banned civil unions. BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME: Former Pacers coach Bobby "Slick" Leonard hopes to hear his name called at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The ABA Committee's selection for the class of 2014 will be announced around 3:30 this afternoon. Watch Eyewitness news throughout the day to find out if he is selected.
