Wind Chill Advisory issued until Tuesday morning

INDIANAPOLIS -

A wind chill advisory is now in effect for much of central Indiana until 9am Tuesday, due to wind chills near -20.  Take precautions from the cold.  Your pets, home and friends in need will need extra attention.  By 10pm Monday, temperatures were already below zero north of Indianapolis.  It was 1 in Indianapolis, but the wind chill was -15.

Temperatures will fall into the range of -3 to -13 by early Tuesday morning.  More sunshine is in the Tuesday forecast, with highs only in the teens.  High temperatures rebound into the upper 20s and lower 30s by the end of the week and the weekend.  We are also tracking a couple of light snow chances Friday and again Saturday night.  We will keep you updated on any potential accumulations.

Temperatures modify later in the week, but chances of snow increase heading into Friday. Accumulation is possible Friday and Saturday, but much too early for anymore specifics. Long-range indicators suggest much warmer conditions next week… but the verdict is out on how long this may last.  Stay tuned for a potential pattern change heading into the second half of February.
