A strong Arctic cold front will sweep through central and south central Indiana between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wind gusts of 45 to 65 mph will accompany the frontal passage.
Northwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph as a strong cold front passes through the region. Winds will become gusty as the front passes from west to east between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Gusty winds will persist for much of the rest of the night.
Precipitation will accompany the strong winds, likely starting as a brief period of rain before changing to snow. Bursts of heavier snow will produce drastically-reduced visibilities.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
