The winter storm that the SkyTrak 13 Weather Team has been tracking for days is now in central Indiana.
The heaviest snow will be falling from noon to 7pm Sunday. Temperatures will plummet to sub-zero temps overnight, creating dangerously cold and icy conditions for Monday morning's commute.
By 7pm, we'll be down to 16 and by midnight we'll be at zero. Then temps will continue to fall below zero.
A winter storm warning is in effect for all of central Indiana from 1am Sunday through 1am Monday. A widespread area of 8-10 inches of snow is in the forecast and there will be a few pockets near a foot of snow. We will be tracking this hour by hour on Sunday and watching where those heaviest snow bands develop, so stay with us.
This is a dangerous storm due to the amount of snow and the arctic air that will follow. Temperatures will fall below zero Sunday night and stay there through Wednesday morning. Wind chills will be dangerously low and nearing -40.
Please take precautions from this storm and remember you pets and your neighbors. Increasing winds NW 2-30 mph will blow and drift the snow starting Sunday night making travel even more difficult.
