During a quiet Christmas week on television, football is a dependable draw.
NBC's telecast of the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday was easily the most popular TV program of the week. The Nielsen company said the last NFL regular season game was seen by more than 27 million.
The most-watched program that didn't involve football was a CBS rerun of "The Big Bang Theory."
ABC's special on families competing to show who had the wildest Christmas light decorations on their homes wasn't a smash but did better than any other holiday-oriented fare.
