Tractor-trailer crashes into cafe in Sullivan County

Authorities in southwest Indiana are trying to determine what caused the driver of a tractor-trailer to veer off a road in southwestern Indiana and strike a cafe, injuring two people.

State police say the driver of the truck, 63-year-old, Gary Nash of Sullivan, was taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital to determine whether a medical condition might have contributed to the crash about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Coal Miner Cafe in Dugger, a town about 35 miles south of Terre Haute.

Two women, ages 81 and 66, injured in the cafe also were taken to the hospital.

State troopers say a preliminary inspection found no defects with the truck.
