An Indianapolis man was arrested Sunday evening in Johnson County for drunk driving with his five-year-old daughter in the back seat.

James Ryan McHale, 34, was pulled over by a Johnson County sheriff's deputy on State Road 37 near Stones Crossing Road in Greenwood. The reporting officer said McHale's Jeep went left of the center line at least three times before the officer stopped him.

The officer said McHale smelled strongly of alcohol and he failed several field sobriety tests, losing his balance several times. He tested .16 BAC, according to the police report.  McHale told the officer he'd been drinking at a football game that he and his daughter were coming from.

The child's mother was contacted and she picked up the girl at the scene.

McHale faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and neglect of a dependent.
