Overnight ice creating travel hazards

Updated:

A warm up is coming to central Indiana, but overnight ice is creating some travel issues on Indiana roads.

Temperatures have fallen into the low to mid 20s with scattered flurries.  Little to no accumulation is expected, but some of what has fallen has turned to black ice on some roadways north of metro Indianapolis.

Authorities in Tippecanoe, Clinton and Carroll counties have advised motorists to use caution on slick roads.

Northbound I-65 closed at State Road 28 in Clinton County to clean up a crash involving two semi-trailers.  Neither driver was injured, and the road has since reopened.

Howard County also reports slick roads in and around Kokomo, with city, county and state trucks currently treating pavement in the area.

By Friday and Saturday we're above our normal high in the mid 30s with temps topping out in the 40s.  However, that warmth will be short lived, another chance of snow moves in Sunday, and an arctic blast of air takes over early next week.
