Ellettsville seeking answers after another flood

ELLETTSVILLE -

Officials in the southern Indiana community of Ellettsville are mulling what to do after it was hit by a 100-year flood for the fourth time in the past five years.

Ellettsville Council President Scott Oldham tells The Herald-Times the town with about 6,400 residents seven miles northwest of Bloomington has been in contact with the state and insurance companies to assess damages and figure out what kind of funds could be used toward a cleanup effort and potentially a plan to prevent future flooding issues.

Flooding this past weekend forced administrative personnel to abandon Ellettsville's Town Hall and move government functions moving to Eagle's Landing Mall. Oldham says he doesn't know what the solution is, but says the town can't keep doing that.
