No fog yet as warmer air approaches

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

With much warmer air moving into central Indiana, fog will be a big concern.  Temperatures are 10-15 degrees warmer than 24 hours ago.  Right now, winds are strong enough to prevent the fog from developing.  Once the winds lighten up, fog will form quickly and it will be dense.  We will be watching this hour by hour overnight and on Thursday.  Most of the latest analysis has this happening later Thursday and Friday.  We will have all of the ingredients in place for dense fog…warmer air, snow on the ground and light winds.

Fog and rain are in the forecast for Friday.  Heavy rain is forecast for the weekend, with highs in the 50s.  The warmest actually be Saturday night and early Sunday.  This is also when the heaviest rain will fall.  Rainfall potential is 1-3 inches and with the snow melting, flooding is a concern this weekend.  Temperatures will back through the 30s later Sunday and a few snow showers may mix with the rain.  This is an active weather pattern, so stay tuned for updates.
